Aujourd'hui, je vais vous parler d'une boutique que j'aime beaucoup, il s'agit de : The South Is Blooming.
The South is blooming c'est une boutique en ligne basée au Pays-Bas, qui propose à un public dit cosmopolitain des produits liés à la culture Sud Africaine ou tout simplement des produits venant d'Afrique du Sud. La boutique propose un choix très éclectique, car cela va des livres, aux CD, à des objets d'intérieurs mais aussi des accessoires tels que les Clutch, ou les chapeaux de la marque Babatunde.
Today I am going to talk about a shop that I like very much, it is about : The South Is Blooming
The South is blooming is an online shop based in Netherlands, who proposes to a cosmopolitain public products connected to the South African culture or simply products coming from South Africa. The shop proposes a very eclectic choice, because it goes from books, to CD, to objects of inside but also accessories such as Clutch, or hats of the brand Babatunde.
Pour moi, The South is Blooming c'est avant tout tout un état d'esprit. Et je crois que c'est ce qui me plaît tout particulièrement chez eux, car il y'a cette réelle envie d'aller au-delà de l'aspect mercantile des choses. On sent cela au travers de leur blog, qui leur permet non seulement de montrer l'influence de l'art africain dans la mode actuelle, mais surtout de promouvoir et montrer le travail d'artisans lors de leurs fréquents voyages en Afrique du Sud.
From my point of view, The South is Blooming is before any a whole state of mind. And I believe that it is what pleases me quite particularly, because there is a real will to go beyond the mercantile aspect of things. We feel it through their blog, which allows them not only to show the influence of the African art in the current fashion, but especially to promote and to show the work of craftsmen during their frequent journeys in South Africa.
Enfin, détail non négligeable, The South is Blooming reverse un pourcentage de ses profits (10% l'année dernière) à une organisation sud-africaine appelée "Keiskamma Trust", qui milite contre la pauvreté et l'accès à l'éducation dans les régions pauvres et reculées de Cape Town.
Finally, not insignificant detail, The South is Blooming gives a percentage of its profits (10% last year) to a South African organization called "Keiskamma Trust", who militates against the poverty and the access to the education in poor regions and moved back of Cape Town.
Les produits sont beaux comme vous pouvez le voir et restent abordables!! A titre d'exemple les clutch sont à 39€ et les chapeaux de Babatunde à 45€! Il faudra néanmoins rajouter 5€ pour les frais de port si vous habitez en Europe.
La petite touche, qui fait plaisir : tout achat est emballé à la japonaise dans un carré de tissu WAx. En effet, The South is blooming utilise la technique traditionnelle du Furoshiki, qu'ils ont rebaptisé Afrofuroshiki!so cute!
As you can see, the products are beautiful and remain affordable!! As an example, a clutch costs 39€ and the hats of Babatunde 45€! It will nevertheless be necessary to add 5€ for postal charges if you live in Europe.
The small touch, I love: any purchase is packed in a square of wax fabric with the traditional japanese technic of Furoshiki!! so they name it Afrofuroshiki! So cute!!
