Focus on ... TATA NAKA

J'ai un énorme coup de coeur à partager avec vous, il s'agit de la marque TATA NAKA. La collection automne hiver 2012-2013 m'a juste laissé sans voix!!

I have a big crush to share with you, it's about the brand TATA NAKA. The 2012-2013 Autumn-winter collection just let me speechless. I was like "OMG"...

TATA NAKA est une marque créée par deux soeurs jumelles, Tamara et Natasha Surguladze, d'origine géorgienne(ex URSS) et ayant grandi en Angleterre. Pour la création de leur 3ème collection, elles ont utilisés des couleurs pétantes, des imprimés "African spirit". Elles se sont clairement inspirées des accessoires des tribus masaï du Kenya mais aussi du Malawi, des coupes des 60's et nous propose un lookbook dans la veine des photos d'un certain Malick Sidibé!

Le résultat est juste époustouflant, je suis complètement In love.

TATA NAKA is a brand created by the twin sisters Tamara et Natasha Surguladze, who were borned in Georgia (ex USSR) and raised in Great Britain. For the creation of their third collection, they used bright and powerful colors, prints with African inspiration. They were truly inspired :

- by accessories from tribes of Kenya and Malawi,

- by 60's

- and they offer us a lookbook in the same vein of Malick Sidibé's pictures.

The result is just stunning, i'm totally in love.

  

Ce qui m'a également plu, c'est que ces 2 designers affirment et clament leur inspiration, elles ont voulu mettre en avant à travers cette collection la CULTURE noire. On va me dire que j'exagère... Mais non, parce que lorsqu'un certain Burberry, qui connaît un succès énorme et se fait encenser pour avoir utiliser du wax, ose dire haut et fort, que la collection Prorsum SS 12 est dénuée de toute connection, relation, inspiration à l'afrique... au delà du foutage de gueule, pour moi cela s'appelle du Dénigrement!

Tata Naka s'inspire de l'afrique pour la confection de sa collection, propose un lookbook à la lumière et à la manière d'un des plus grands photographe africain et coiffe tout ses modèles d'un magnifique afro... quel plus bel hommage non?

The thing i really loved is the fact that these two designers declare and claim their inspiration, they have wanted to show through this collection Black culture. People would tell me " you're a bit excessive!!" But i would say no, because when a brand like Burberry, which knows a huge success and is acclaimed for having used Wax print, dares saying that Prorsum collection has no connection, no relation and nothing to do with Africa... beyond taking us for dumbs, in my point of view it is denigration.

La collection en elle même est colorée, vibrante à la fois classe et sexy!! Si on devait lui trouver une égérie, je trouve que çà irait à merveille à Solange Knowles!! Je vous laisse apprécier le lookbook!

The collection itself is colourful, vibrant, class & sexy!! if i have to find a muse , i will definetely say Solange Knowles!! I let you enjoy the lookbook.

Tata Naka get inspired from Africa, they offer a lookbook through the light and the style of one of the most talented African Photographer  and do models's hair a beautiful Afro... What a wonderful tribute, don't you think?
